Grades 7-12

Teacher Heather French

Teacher absence policy-Substitute

Course Description: Students will learn methods for conducting research and finding credible sources, and use critical thinking to analyze the information and develop their own perspective of the topic. Finally, they will learn to communicate their findings in a persuasive essay using the 5 paragraph method with proper citations. I hope to make this a fun class by using games to reinforce the learning and offering research topics that interest each student. Even seemingly obscure topics offer a great opportunity to delve into different research methods. I want to give students the tools and confidence to conduct their own research and understand that AI programs cannot be relied on to replace these necessary skills.
