Course Description: First, we will learn about the Revolutionary War. How and why it started, famous battles, the Boston Tea Party, the Declaration of Independence, how the battles went, who won, and what it was like to be a soldier during the war. After we learn about the Revolutionary War we will learn about the Civil War. What started the war, what was life like during the Civil War, what was slave life like, what was it like being a soldier on either side? We will also talk about life after the war and what it was like for slaves after emancipation.

Time:  9AM Monday

Cost:  For one student taking both Revolutionary & Civil Wars and Online Science: $500/year; Just this class: $290/year; payments due August 26, 2024 and November 5, 2025; CASH or CHECK ONLY. An invoice will be sent to you once you have registered for class. Payment may be mailed to the address on the invoice or dropped off at Cornerstone on the following Tuesday.

Supply Fee:  $30 for both classes; $15 for one class; one-time, non-refundable supply fee

Class Prerequisite:  Ability to read, write, and use a computer for typing and writing assignments

Materials Teacher Will Provide:  additional worksheets

Materials Students Must Provide:  Notebook, scissors, and pencil. Crayons, markers, or colored pencils

Minimum Enrollment:  3

Maximum Enrollment:  8

Parent Requirements: The teacher will grade all assignments turned in on time. Anything not turned in on time will not be graded. Parents need the ability to print out and scan their student’s completed assignments to return to the teacher.
