Basic Math III – Geometry

Course Description: This middle-high school math course provides students with a very broad overview for pre-geometry and geometry concepts. It seeks to provide students with a strong start to a future geometry program or a comprehensive program for struggling learners. If your student is ready for geometry or is a struggling student, this class is for you. The pace is slow and the weekly homework is manageable. There are weekly homework assignments, weekly quizzes, and 5 assessments. This course covers a wide range of concepts such as angles, triangles, quadrilaterals, Pythagorean Theorem, 2-D & 3-D shapes, area, volume, composite figures, solids of revolution, parallel lines, transversals, proving special angles & parallel lines, dilations and more. There is note-taking in this class that every student must comply with in some way (hand-written preferred, photo acceptable but with teacher’s permission).

Cost: $140/per student/per semester; CASH or CHECK only; $5.00 discount if paid in CASH; 60% payment DUE first week of semester; 40% payment DUE fifth week of semester
Supply Fee: One-time, non-refundable $25.00/year; OPTIONAL Report Card Fee of $25.00/year
Class Prerequisite: A strong working knowledge of computation skills (adding, subtracting, multiplying, & dividing). You do not need Basic Math I or Basic Math II to place in this course.
Materials Teacher Will Provide: Homework, Quizzes, Assessment via email; online help if needed
Materials Students Must Provide: Notebook, 1 1/2″ – 2″ binder, WORKING scientific calculator, pencils, erasers
Minimum Enrollment: 5
Maximum Enrollment: 12
Parent Requirements: Parents MUST ensure all homework, quizzes, and assessments are completed and turned in when they are DUE. Due to the content, late assignments WILL NOT be accepted.
