Basic Math III – Geometry Online

Course Description: Please read the “Math Course Explained” in the “Classes” tab to find the best fit for your student. This middle/high school math course provides students with a broad overview for pre-geometry and geometry concepts. It seeks to provide students with a strong start to a future geometry program or a comprehensive program for struggling learners. If your students are ready for geometry or is a struggling student, this class is for you. The pace is slow and the weekly homework is manageable. There are weekly homework assignments, weekly quizzes, and 5 assessments. This course covers a wide range of concepts such as angles, triangles, quadrilaterals, Pythagorean Theorem, 2-D & 3-D shapes, area, volume, composite figures, solids of revolution, parallel lines, transversals, proving special angles & parallel lines, dilations and more. Cost:  $305; Cash or Check only; Due: 8/26 and 11/4

Supply Fee:  $20 – one time, nonrefundable

Class Prerequisite:  PRE-REQUISITE: A strong working knowledge of computation skills (adding, subtracting, multiplying, & dividing). You do not need Basic Math I or II to place in this course. It is suggested but not necessary. 

Materials Teacher Will Provide:  Online platform; additional online time if needed, handwritten notes, homework, quizzes, answer key, and assessments.

Materials Students Must Provide:  Notebook for additional notetaking, pencils.

Minimum Enrollment:  2

Maximum Enrollment:  5

Parent Requirements:  To ensure assignments are being completed and turned in for grading.

Course Length

What the length of this course is for the school year

  • Session - These classes may be attended for individual sessions. Once you sign up the teacher will keep you signed up. If you are unable to attend the next session please notify the teacher so they may offer that spot to somebody else.
  • Semester - These classes are offered in 15 week intervals. Like the School Year Classes, these classes build on the information that was taught in the previous classes you must join at the beginning of the semester and continue through the 15 weeks. If you are unable to continue you are still obligated to pay for the entire semester as that spot may no longer be filled.
  • School Year - Because these classes build on the information that was taught in the previous classes you must join at the beginning of the year and continue through the school year. If you are unable to continue you are still obligated to pay for the entire year as that spot may no longer be filled.
  • Open - You may join these classes at any time. As a courtesy you are still required to notify the teacher if you will no longer be attending.

  • Christian - Taught from a Christian point of view
  • Secular - Taught from a secular point of view
  • Mixed - These classes use a generally secular curriculum but may be taught by someone with a Christian worldview. For example: Ballet is a neutral class but some of the songs may have Christian lyrics. The teacher may say something like "work within your God-given design"
  • Either - The Guest Hollow curriculums can be customized to include Christian or strictly secular books. When you are purchasing the books, the guide will give you options
